Excitability of the LF (PKC-δ+) neurons in the CeA controls anxiety –like behaviors in mice (Tye et al., 2011; Cai et al., 2014) suggesting that impaired early KAR activity, leading to altered excitatory drive to LF CeA neurons, might be a causative factor in developmentally originating anxiety disorders. This evidence concerns the gene PRKCD and anxiety disorder.
