In three independent neuroimaging genetics association studies, a highly significant correlation of the FRMD6 gene to Alzheimer’s disease and mild cognitive impairment was discovered and this correlation was additionally validated by a genome-wide and gene-based association study in a large patient cohort (Hong et al. 2012; Shen et al. 2014). The gene discussed is FRMD6; the disease is early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
