Higher levels of copper and ceruloplasmin (Amancio et al. 2003) and uric acid (Choe and Kim 2015) and a lower level of zinc were noted in rats with RA (Mierzecki et al. 2011), possibly due to an elevated level of IL-1 (Nemeth et al. 2002). This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and rheumatoid arthritis.
