In another study, to improve hematopoiesis in MDS patients, a therapeutic drug developed with Fc-engineered CD33 monoclonal antibody has been tested to target MDSC [35], blast, and leukemic stem cell population in patients with low-risk MDS and preventing immune-suppressive cytokine secretion by blocking CD33 antigen with the goal of improving bone marrow hematopoiesis [47]. The gene discussed is CD33; the disease is myelodysplastic syndrome.
