PTH and hypoparathyroidism: The results of these studies are mainly concordant with regard to the concept that patients who have retained at least one well-vascularized parathyroid gland after total thyroidectomy, as demonstrated by ICG angiography (Figure 7), also exhibited normal PTH levels during the first postoperative day, thereby excluding postoperative hypoparathyroidism with a 100% positive predictive value [33,37,39,40,41].
