Kondo et al. (2015) generated mouse monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) specifically distinguishing cis from trans p-tau and found that cis mAb is able to enter neurons and effectively blocks time-dependent induction of pathological cis p-tau without affecting physiological trans p-tau, suggesting that cis p-tau antibody therapy may offer new approaches to treat tau-related pathologies including AD. Here, MAPT is linked to Alzheimer disease.
