EGFR and lung carcinoma: Consistent with these findings, immunofluorescent studies revealed that depletion of PFKP in EGF-treated U87/EGFR cells (Supplementary Figure S1B) and U87 cells expressing the constitutively activated EGFRvIII mutant, which lacks 267 amino acids in its extracellular domain and is commonly found in GBM as well as in breast, ovarian, prostate, and lung carcinomas (28), resulted in decreased nucleus-localized β-catenin (Figure 1B).
