The findings of the meta-analysis demonstrated that CKI plus PBC was associated with significant reductions in severe leukopenia (RR = 0.44, 95% CI 0.35 to 0.55, P < 0.00001), anemia (RR = 0.22, 95% CI 0.12 to 0.38, P < 0.00001), thrombocytopenia (OR = 0.51, 95% CI 0.32 to 0.82, P = 0.005), nausea and vomiting (RR = 0.41, 95% CI 0.30 to 0.56, P < 0.00001), diarrhea (RR = 0.42, 95% CI 0.23 to 0.77, P = 0.004), stomatitis (RR = 0.31, 95% CI 0.13 to 0.74, P = 0.008), hair loss (RR = 0.47, 95% CI 0.24 to 0.89, P = 0.02). This evidence concerns the gene CHKA and anemia (phenotype).
