In 2016, Huang et al. have retrospectively analyzed the clinicopathologic data of 766 ESCC patients according to the 7th edition of AJCC staging system and suggested that the 3-year survival rates in pIa, pIb, pIIa, pIIb, pIIIa, pIIIb and pIIIc stages are 85.7%, 71.1%, 82.1%, 76.8%, 53.5%, 32.5% and 29.5%, respectively11.
