In addition, ME-180 cells infected with 0.5 MOI of HSV-2 showed a much higher percentage of infection compared to those infected with 0.1 MOI of HSV-2, which was consistent with the levels of TLR9 mRNA and protein, suggesting that TLR9 expression was upregulated in HSV-2-infected cells (Figures 1G,I and Figure S1). The gene discussed is TLR9; the disease is infection.
