Indeed, analysis of the anxiety state of TAAR5-KO mice in the light–dark box demonstrated that ablation of TAAR5 increased the number of nose pokes into the light compartment (Figure 3D; p < 0.05), but did not affect (p > 0.05) the time spent in the light compartment (87.2 ± 6.99 vs. 73.5 ± 10.67 s), the number of entries into the light compartment (7.1 ± 0.61 vs. 7.0 ± 0.52), and the latency of first entry into the light compartment (46.6 ± 12.16 vs. 41.0 ± 16.20 s).
