High expression of MUC1 is associated with epithelial ovarian cancer progression [38], hypomethylated MUC1 in poorly-differentiated ovarian cancer indicated functions in tumorigenesis, metastasis, invasion and migration [39], and a combination of MUC1 vaccination and anti-PD-L1 blockade resulted improved survival in ovarian cancer patients [40].
