Although high p‐Akt expression is a reported predictor of resistance to MEK inhibition in melanoma patients (Atefi et al., 2011; Catalanotti et al., 2013; Gopal et al., 2010), the p‐Akt level was highest in DFCI168, suggesting that sensitivity to MEK inhibitor treatment does not correlate with the level of p‐Akt in the cell lines we tested (Fig. S2C).
