In light of the vascular protective effects of ADAMTS13, the authors investigated its potential role in preventing CAA and AD by deleting the ADAMTS13 gene in APPPS1 mice, which express a chimeric mouse/human APP (Mo/Hu APP 695swe) and a mutant human presenilin 1 (PS1-dE9) [91]. Here, ADAMTS13 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
