In man, an association between SK channels and AF has been shown in genome-wide association studies concluding that common variants in the genes encoding KCa2.2 and KCa2.3, are associated with AF (Ellinor et al., 2010; Ellinor et al., 2012; Christophersen et al., 2017). This evidence concerns the gene KCNN3 and atrial fibrillation.
