After adjusting for age, sex, WHO danger signs, CD4 cell count, and ART status in a post-hoc mixed-effect Cox proportional hazards model (equivalent to that used for M tuberculosis BSI), positive urine LAM was not significantly associated with mortality in patients with a diagnosis of HIV-associated tuberculosis (HR 1·24, 95% CI 0·86–2·36; appendix p 19). Here, CD4 is linked to tuberculosis.
