Recently, an investigation carried out on human epithelial ovarian cancer treated with morusin showed that morusin was able to induce ER stress by increasing the expression of binding immunoglobulin protein (BiP, a heavy-chain-binding protein), CHOP, IRE1α, and phosphorylated eukaryotic initiation factor alpha subunit (p-eIF2α). The gene discussed is HSPA5; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
