A recent study demonstrated that oridonin inhibits MDA‐MB‐231 human breast cancer cell migration and invasion in vitro possibly by decreasing the levels of local adhesion kinase (FAK).17 FAK, a non‐receptor protein tyrosine kinase, is a key component in initiating downstream signalling that promotes cell migration.35 According to a previous study, both FAK and phospho‐FAK are highly expressed in SCLC cell lines,10 and the increased expression of phospho‐FAK was correlated with spreading, adhesion and migration in SCLC cells. This evidence concerns the gene PTK2 and breast cancer.
