Recently, it has been shown that a specific NLRP3 inflammasome inhibitor, CY-09, is able to directly inhibit NLRP3 and it was also shown that CY-09 exhibited strong therapeutic or preventive effects on mouse models of gout, type 2 diabetes and cryopyrin-associated autoinflammatory syndrome53. The gene discussed is NLRP3; the disease is gout.
