The liver has critical roles during infections associated with removal of intravascular bacteria and LPS, i.e., bacteria scavenging, detoxifications by acyloxyacyl hydrolase (AOAH) and alkaline phosphatase and synthesizing acute-phase proteins (Poelstra et al., 1997; Shao et al., 2007; Deng et al., 2013).
