The relative expressions of PTCH1, SMO, Gli1 and HHIP at both mRNA and protein levels were reduced in the overexpression of EGOT. Purmorphamine molecules were used to treat cells with an overexpression of EGOT to ensure two things: first, that the Hh pathway was activated; and second, that the roles of Hh signaling in EGOT‐induced inhibitive effects on breast cancer cells were found. Here, SMO is linked to breast carcinoma.
