IRAK1 and cancer: Our analysis showed a negativecorrelation between the expression of mir146a-5p with TRAF6 as wellas with TRAF3IP1. However, we found a positive correlation ofmiR146a-5p with IRAK1. It has been shown that reducedTRAF6 and IRAK1 levels lessen the activity ofNF-kB, a potential inducer of proliferation, survival, angiogenesis, and metastasis(Bhaumik et al., 2008).In summary, the studies on miR146a and their targets suggest thatrs2910164 can exert their effects on cancer mainly by changingthe binding to the target rather than by modulating the expression levels ofmiR146a-5p.
