Recent studies have also found that SOX2 is highly expressed in a variety of tumors, such as lung cancers like NSCLC (Leung et al., 2010; Lu et al., 2010) and SCLC (Rudin et al., 2012), pancreatic cancer (Herreros‐Villanueva, Bujanda, Billadeau, & Zhang, 2014), gastric carcinoma (Li et al., 2004), breast cancer (Lengerke et al., 2011), glioblastomas (Gangemi et al., 2009), osteosarcomas (Basu‐Roy et al., 2012), prostate cancer (Bae et al., 2010), and hepatocellular carcinomas (Xu et al., 2010). This evidence concerns the gene SOX2 and Familial prostate cancer.
