Wu et al. (2013a) found that TSLP could trigger senescence in airway epithelial cells in vitro, indicated by the upregulation of p21, p16 and SA-β-Gal. However, Belsky et al. (2014) conducted a prospective study and demonstrated that higher eosinophilc inflammation did not accelerate telomere shortening rate in asthma. The gene discussed is TSLP; the disease is asthma.
