Addition of type I IFNβ and IFNω (100 U/mL) did not affect productive infection in DC-T cell cultures but did decrease the frequency of latently infected CD4+ T cells with a relative mean (range) inhibition of 61 (42–89)% and 57 (40–80)% (p = 0.01, n = 4 and p = 0.04, n = 3), respectively (Fig 2B and S2 Fig). This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and infection.
