The estimated cumulative risks of developing BC to age 50 years were 4% (95% CI = 3% to 6%) for RAD51C and 4% (95% CI = 2% to 5%) for RAD51D pathogenic variant carriers and to age 80 years were 21% (95% CI = 15% to 29%) for RAD51C and 20% (95 CI = 14% to 28%) for RAD51D pathogenic variant carriers assuming UK incidences (Figure 1 and Table 3; Supplementary Table 7, available online, assuming US incidences). This evidence concerns the gene RAD51C and breast cancer.
