Meneguette et al. (2016) did not find differences in genotype and allele frequency of rs7895833 A>G SNP SIRT1 between Brazilian adult individuals with metabolic syndrome (MetS) and those not presenting it (P = 0.24). The minor allele-G frequency was 0.280 in subjects with MetS and 0.265 in non-MetS (Meneguette et al., 2016). The gene discussed is SIRT1; the disease is metabolic syndrome.
