Recently, an inhibitory receptor, Ig-like transcript 2 (ILT2), was identified, and its presence was significantly decreased on leukemic cells, while it was augmented on CD8 and CD4 T cells from B-CLL patients with chromosome 11q deletion, which involves the ataxia-telangiectasia-mutated kinase (ATM) gene. The gene discussed is ATM; the disease is B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
