The relationship between PM2.5 and inflammation has been identified as playing a role in a variety of lung diseases—such as asthma, acute lung injury, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease—and the secretion of inflammatory cytokines (interleukins (ILs) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α) were induced by PM2.5 [11,12,13]. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
