When investigated with other biomarkers (hsCRP, sST2, BNP) in 1946 CAD patients with preserved left-ventricular function (mean follow-up of 76 ± 20 months), elevated sST2 but also hsTnT (≥15 ng/mL) were the strongest predictors of SCD (followed by hsCRP and BNP) [49].
