TP53 and Alzheimer disease: The miR‐34 family (miR‐34a, miR‐34b, and miR‐34c), which is described as a p53 effector, has anti‐proliferative and pro‐apoptotic functions(Beard et al., 2016; Cortez et al., 2016) It is well known that p53 is upregulated in AD brain and leads to neuronal loss, but we do not know whether miR‐34c could be transcriptionally activated by p53 during the progression of AD.
