CCNE2 and cancer: Of note, miR-26a can induce cell cycle arrest and inhibit cancer cell proliferation by targeting multiple oncogenes such as enhancer of zeste 2 polycomb repressive complex 2 subunit (EZH2), Lin-28 homolog B (Lin28B), CCND2 and cyclin E2 (CCNE2) [19,45,46], which might also contribute to the inhibition of miR-26a on β cell hyperplasia.
