TNF and infection: Interestingly, the infection mimicry state possibly derived from the presence of complementary RNAs originated from transcription from either HERV end (HERV activation) in the studied subjects, correlates with higher INF-β, for both HERV-H and HERV-W HERVs, and increased INF-γ levels in patients positively correlates with HERV-W, in the absence of the inflammatory marker TNF-α (Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3 and Figure 4).
