Compared with placebo, DH CCBs were reported to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death by 7 cases per 1000 persons; ACE inhibitors and diuretics were reported to decrease myocardial infarction risk by 24 cases and 10 cases per 1000 persons, respectively; and DH CCBs and diuretics were reported to reduce stroke risk by 16 cases and 21 cases per 1000 persons, respectively (eTable 2 in the Supplement).
