Non-invasive inflammatory biomarkers, such as C- reactive protein, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, leukocyte count, procalcitonin, interferon alpha, and tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) have been widely used to improve diagnostic accuracy of leprosy reactions (Iyer et al., 2007; Carvalho et al., 2018).
