RhoA and its downstream signaling molecules can be expressed on the surface of hepatic vascular smooth muscle cells, vascular endothelial cells and HSCs (Hennenberg et al., 2006), which can aggravate liver fibrosis by regulating HSC activation, migration, adhesion, contraction, proliferation, and apoptosis (Li et al., 2012; Hu and Phan, 2013).
