SIRPA and colorectal adenocarcinoma: Ring et al. (19) incubated different colorectal adenocarcinoma cell lines with human macrophages after treatment with an anti-SIRPα antibody (KWAR23) in combination with cetuximab or panitumumab (two types of treatments targeting epidermal growth factor receptor); these authors found that KWAR23 alone enhances macrophage-mediated phagocytosis of DLD-1 colorectal adenocarcinoma cells, and that the combination of KWAR23 and cetuximab increases the macrophage-mediated phagocytosis of DLD-1, LS, 174T, HT-29, and HCT 116 colon adenocarcinoma cells.
