Murine models of iron overload, that include KO (Knock-out) mice (Hfe-KO, Hjv-KO, Tfr2-KO) [11,12,13,14] and iron dextran intraperitoneal administration [14], were used to better investigate the effects that iron overload has on organs and cells.
