This result suggests that the observed increase of Fgf2 and Fgfr2 mRNA in VEGFR2-Fc–expressing tumors in vivo (Fig. 2c,d) may be due to stromal cells which include endothelial cells, pericytes, cancer-associated fibroblasts, and tumor infiltrated lymphocytes rather than cancer cells.
