Interestingly, we also investigated protein levels of these SR/ER shaping proteins in the context of cardiac pressure overload-induced hypertrophy and heart failure and were able to demonstrate consistent and significant elevations in protein levels of REEP5, RTN4, ATL3, and CKAP4 in failing mouse hearts following aortic constriction (see Supplementary Fig. 8a). This evidence concerns the gene RTN4 and heart failure.
