Sclerostin and dickkopf-1 (DKK1) played a role in the development of cardiovascular diseases and arterial stiffness in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients but with controversial results of patients in end-stage renal disease (ESRD) including hemodialysis (HD) and peritoneal dialysis (PD). This evidence concerns the gene DKK1 and stage 5 chronic kidney disease.
