Recent established inflammatory factors such as IL‐8, C‐reactive protein (CRP), pentraxin 3 (PTX3) and tumour necrosis factor receptor‐2 (TNFRII) have been linked to increased lung cancer risk.10, 11, 12, 13 Our prior study of 10 widely evaluated inflammatory biomarkers found that elevated levels of B lymphocyte chemoattractant (BLC) increased the risk of subcentimetre lung adenocarcinoma by 2.90‐fold.14 This evidence concerns the gene PTX3 and lung adenocarcinoma.
