In particular, the activation of the JAK‐STAT pathway has been shown to be common in pancreatic cancer (Matsuoka & Yashiro, 2016) and is often associated with TP53 mutation (Wörmann et al, 2016), suggesting that targeting Mdm2‐p53 and JAK could be indeed a promising combination therapy for some patients. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is familial pancreatic carcinoma.
