SMARCA1 and neoplasm: While the global tumor-suppressor activity of SWI/SNF is well established, we have uncovered a subjacent oncogenic set of SMARCB1-SWINGN targets, including GAS6, PDGFRB, and COL1A1. In tumors such as lung squamous cancers, where the SWINGN-SWI/SNF axis is active and the regulatory connection is maintained, SWINGN may represent an interesting therapeutic target.
