PLA2G6 and Parkinson disease: In this study, we established a model based on PLA2G6 mutant, patient-iPSC-derived, midbrain DA neurons, and found that the PLA2G6 mutant caused PD-related cascade events in DA neurons, such as imbalance of Ca2+ homeostasis, increase of UPR proteins, decline of mitochondrial membrane potential, fragmentation of mitochondria, increase of ROS, and apoptosis, which was consistent with previous reports27,34–38.
