Gliflozins including empagliflozin, dapagliflozin, and canagliflozin are a novel class of antidiabetic agents used for the treatment of T2D that selectively inhibit the sodium–glucose cotransporter (SGLT)2 to prevent glucose reabsorption in the renal proximal tubule.
