To restore normal apoptosis signals, in vivo and in vitro studies show that suppression of anti-apoptosis Bcl-2 (B-cell lymphoma 2) and Mcl-1 (Myeloid cell leukemia 1) protein as well as up-regulation of pro-apoptosis protein, Bax (Bcl-2-associated X protein) strongly correlates with apoptosis induction in cancer cells, including those obtained from advanced grade lung cancer specimens [9,10]. This evidence concerns the gene BAX and lung carcinoma.
