Most of those 6 genes are involved in function of nucleic acid binding, and some of those genes have been reported to be aberrantly methylated in tumors [such as ZIK1 (Borinstein et al., 2010), ZNF471 (Bhat et al., 2017)] and may serve as a marker of cancer [e.g., ZNF677 (Heller et al., 2015), ZNF582 (Lin et al., 2014)].
