Preeclampsia continues to be one of the important causes of perinatal mortality and morbidity.16 Maternal preeclampsia is reported to be associated with morbidity especially in premature infants.16 According to our knowledge, for the first time in the literature, the levels of IL-6, IL-8, IL-10 and TNF-α in the cord blood of premature infants born at ≤32 weeks of gestational age from mothers with preeclampsia and normotensive mothers were compared. The gene discussed is IL10; the disease is preeclampsia.
