The bacterial infection-dependent hemocyte proliferation in larvae was not affected in dMyD88kra1, a mutant of the dMyD88 adaptor protein in the Toll pathway, and RelishE20, a mutant of the Relish transcription factor of the imd pathway, suggesting that neither the Toll nor the imd pathway is involved in bacterial infection-dependent hemocyte proliferation (Figure 2C). The gene discussed is TLR4; the disease is bacterial infectious disease.
